Tom writes:
"In 2003-04 I lived in New York City, trying to get better at the piano, and hoping to figure out what to do next. I ended up hanging out with so many great people, one of whom - my friend Ben - persuaded me to make this album. We started out with no preconception at all other than we knew we wanted Reid and Mike. It was a total joy to make - everything was very spontaneous, and we'd jump from instrument to instrument. It's ambitious, and a bit lumpy, but it's a very true product of my time in America before I got to London and went along a very different path."
